Fueling the Arts: $10K for LBO's Bright Future with Long Beach Gives!

Long Beach Gives is a community-wide date of philanthropy in which an entire city and all its non-profit supporters come together to provide funds for Long Beach programming.

LBO is endeavoring to raise $10,000 in donations this week, with the main giving day culminating on September 21st, in one week. Donations to LBO's Long Beach Gives page, donations to our website, donations with subscriptions and GALA sponsorships fulfilled in the next week ALL COUNT towards LBO's goal of raising $10,000. Your generosity directly supports our programming and talented artists.

But there's more! Scroll down to hear from some of our LBO Board members as they share why they're passionate supporters of LBO.

Join us in making an impact, supporting the arts, and uplifting our community. Be part of Long Beach Gives! 💪❤️

As someone who travels across Southern California and both nationally and internationally to see exceptional art, I’m thrilled that I can also witness world-class art right here in Long Beach when I attend Long Beach Opera productions. Additionally, as a Filipino immigrant serving a spanish-speaking community in my work at MLK Jr. Community Healthcare, I appreciate the diverse cultural approach to the programming at LBO and have proudly served on the Board since 2021.

As a small business owner in Long Beach, I’ve served on the board of LBO for over two decades. Why do I keep supporting this organization year after year? Because it keeps reinventing itself as a place for cultural innovation and artistic excellence and continues to bring me insightful entertainment each season. I’m proud to serve on the Board of the longest running opera organization in all of Los Angeles County and take pride in what LBO is able to provide to the Long Beach Community.

Long Beach Opera is a point of civic pride. Having served in the Long Beach city government, I understand the benefit of having a cultural gem like LBO, that receives coverage on the front pages of The New York Times and L.A. Times Arts Sections, right here in Long Beach. Now that I work for Boeing, I’m pleased to be able to share this cultural gem with my colleagues and am proud that Boeing has a matching program to help its employees support local non-profits. Finding out if your employer has an employee matching donation program is a great way to extend your impact during Long Beach Gives and support local art that makes national headlines!
