ENTRY: A Long Beach Opera Original Short Film Premieres October 9, 2023

Monday, October 9th, in honor of Indigenous People's Day, Long Beach Opera is releasing ENTRY, a captivating opera film crafted in collaboration with Indigenous artists from New Mexico. It was directed by our friend and regular collaborator, Raviv Ullman, known to many from our recent Film Festival, called The Recital, where he directed Schubert's Die Schöne Mullerin and co-curated the event.

Raviv joined forces with composer Alex Simon, known as Tone Ranger, to produce an original score that perfectly complements this unique cinematic opera. The creative team also collaborated with dancer Anne Pesata, who not only choreographed but also stars in this remarkable film. Adding to the musical ensemble is Anna Schubert, a beloved soprano of LBO, and the poet Bluebird.

ENTRY had its premiere at LBO's 2022 Film Festival, followed by a feature in Opera Philadelphia's Opera on Film series. It was even released as a musical album.

On October 9th, 2023, the world will finally witness the official release of ENTRY.

Starting at noon on that day, this film will be readily accessible on both YouTube and LBO's website. To ensure you don't miss this extraordinary premiere, simply click the link below and hit the 'Notify Me' button that appears under the video.
