Fiona Digney
Fiona Digney is an Australian-born, multi-faceted percussionist, producer, and educator with a distinguished career that seamlessly integrates artistic performance with executive-level artistic administration. She earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in percussion performance from the University of California, San Diego, studying under the mentorship of Steven Schick.
Fiona's artistic journey has taken her across the globe, performing in solo, ensemble, and theatrical settings in Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America. Her diverse theater credits include productions such as Caligula with Cripple Creek Theatre Company in New Orleans, The Cherry Orchard and Perestroika in San Diego, Caesar with Het Zuidelijk Toneel in The Netherlands and Belgium, and the European premiere of Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns at the Almeida Theatre in London. In addition, she is a regular guest performer with the San Diego Symphony and has contributed to various new and experimental music ensembles.
In her leadership roles, Fiona serves as Managing Director and Artistic Producer for Art of Elan, Executive Producer and Artistic Administrator for the Ojai Music Festival, and Artistic Producer and Management Consultant for Long Beach Opera. Her administrative work is marked by strategic vision, organizational restructuring, and fostering artistic innovation. She recently concluded her tenure as COO at Alchemic Sonic Environment, where she helped develop immersive, multisensory experiences that blend music, technology, and wellness.
Fiona has collaborated with renowned artists and ensembles, including Barbara Hannigan, John Luther Adams, Peter Sellars, and the International Contemporary Ensemble. At the Ojai Music Festival, she has been instrumental in programming and managing complex productions, working closely with leading contemporary music figures.
Balancing her dual roles as a performer and administrator, Fiona is deeply committed to pushing the boundaries of contemporary music, both on stage and behind the scenes. Her work continues to shape the future of the global music community, blending her passion for innovative performance with her expertise in artistic leadership.
