Jeremy Wright

Jeremy Wright is a musician, staging services specialist, and audio engineer at California State University, Long Beach. He studies classical bass with Doug Basye and has studied with Jonathan Richards and Marlon Martinez in both Jazz and Classical styles. He believes in expanding the boundaries of classical music by incorporating folk, jazz, and new styles into the art form to make it more accessible and meaningful to everyone. He is studying classical recording through hands-on experience, and has recorded recitals, concerts, and chamber groups. Jeremy was able to begin his studies at Pasadena City College before pursuing his BM in double bass performance at CSULB.
In high school, Jeremy was in choir, and assisted with accessibility for differently abled students that were not able to read physical sheet music and helped teach elementary and middle school children how to sing and read music. At Pasadena City College, Jeremy was a member of chamber singers, string chamber music, orchestra, piano accompanying, jazz combos, big band, individual instruction, and Concert band.
While studying, Jeremy has worked for PCC staging services, Daniel Recital Hall at Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, Carpenter Performing Arts Center, Long Beach Municipal Band, and various churches as a sound engineer. He has done most recording work for Rychard Cooper, assisting with album recording for the Bob Cole Chamber Choir, and assisting with Symphonic band, University string Quartet, and dozens of recitals.
Jeremy believes in the mission of Long Beach Opera, and has always been a proponent for new music, and has been fortunate enough to have performed works by Raymond Torres-Santos, and has study the music of Gabriela Lena Frank.
