William Roper is a multi-disciplinary artist. He has toured the two Americas, Europe and Japan as a soloist and ensemble player. He is represented on 70+ recordings having released 15 as leader/co-leader. As well as his own works, he has created in partnership with choreographers, dramaturges, performance artists and videographers. He has received commissions from the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center, Koan Quartet, SASSAS, USC Kade Institute, Eastside Arts Initiative, Arts Council Tokyo. He has held residencies at institutions in California, Germany and Japan and has received awards from the NEA, CAC, LADCA, Durfee Foundation. He has exhibited in galleries and museums in the U.S. and Europe.
